"In early 2000 I was approached, at an Alliance meeting, by Bob deVirgillio who asked if we, in central New York, were aware of the Asbestos problem with retired Firefighters. Having never heard of this, he explained to me that after special screenings many down stater's were found infected and were getting remuneration through litigation in the courts, by aid of your firm. He then put me in touch with you and by June of 2000 you had set up a screening clinic at Griffiss Air Base. We had over 160 retired central New York Firefighters screened and found that nearly 40 % had some degree of asbestosis and many have received money since. In my own case it was a win/lose situation. I was found infected and subsequently found with a lung cancer. The win was that we caught it early and the growth was removed in 10/01.
