Providing Legal Assistance With Visas, Petitions, Immigration, Naturalization, & Citizenship

At Migliore & Infranco, P.C., our knowledgeable attorneys and talented support staff assist clients throughout Long Island, New York, and nationally in all types of immigration matters, including naturalization / citizenship, immigrant visas, non-immigrant visas, petitions, work permits, deportation and removal proceedings , and exchange programs.

Naturalization / Citizenship:

If you are thinking of becoming a U.S. national or citizen, we can help ensure that you are eligible and that you meet all the requirements.  For instance, if you are married to a US citizen, are the foreign-born child of a citizen, or have been a permanent resident of the US for at least five years, we can help you file the appropriate documentation and prepare you for the naturalization interview.

Immigrant Visas (permanent residence / green cards):

  • Family Petitions: Permanent residence for spouses, parents, children, siblings of United States Citizens and for spouses and unmarried children of permanent residents

  • Labor Certifications / Employment Based Petitions: Permanent residence for foreign and potential foreign employees

  • Extraordinary / Exceptional Ability: Permanent residence based upon a person's abilities in his or her field

Non-immigrant Visas:

Non-immigrant visas, or temporary visas, are for people who are planning to visit the United States as tourists, as students, for business, on cultural exchange programs, or for medical purposes. The visa classifies the visit as business, tourism, etc. and each visaclassification has its own requirements regarding how long a person can stay in the U.S. and what activities are allowed. It is sometimes possible for someone who is in the U.S. in one non-immigrant visa category to change to a different one. This is called a “change of status” and requires that an application be filed and approved by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).  Contact Migliore & Infranco, P.C. to find out how we can help you in this area.

Refugees & Asylum Seekers:

Our law firm also provides assistance to persons fleeing persecution in their own countries and coming to the US to seek refuge or political asylum.  We can help you file the proper paperwork, document your story, and present it to the Immigration officials.  We can also assist you with other entitlements, such as applying for an employment authorization document (EAD, or work permit) and other benefits.

Deportation & Removal:

Anyone who is not a US citizen can be removed or deported from the country for a variety of reasons.  Do not let this happen to you. Contact us immediately if you find yourself  facing deportation or removal proceedings, and find out what we can do to help you pursue your American dream.

Additional Considerations:

We will assist clients in filing the appropriate petitions and/or applications with the USCIS or appropriate U.S. consulate. Clients may not be aware of the many types of supporting documentation that will greatly assist them in obtaining their visas.  Additionally, many clients are not aware that certain things can negatively impact their status, including:

  • Overstays

  • Crimes / Arrests / Criminal Convictions

  • Health / HIV issues

  • Working without permission

Any one of these issues can negatively affect your ability to remain in this country.  If you have questions regarding how our experienced Immigration & Citizenship attorneys can help you, contact us for a free consultation.  For immediate assistance, please call our law office.
